Founded under the aegis of the Preet Vihar Education Society (Regd.), the school is a lasting homage to the pioneering vision of Late Sh. Kewal Krishan Mutneja, the esteemed founder of Preet Vihar colony, and the exemplary leadership of Late Chairman Sh. Brijender Mutneja, who devoted his life to the growth and progress of the institution with unwavering commitment and dedication.

Late Shri Kewal Krishan Mutneja was a resident of Old Delhi and worked in the New Insurance Company. He was a man of keen intellect and great wisdom. A man who stayed among the crowd of millions initially and rose above and came up with the idea and establishing a colony “PREET NAGAR” -currently called PREET VIHAR which has been awarded as No. 1 residential colony of Delhi by many newspapers. It was only a great visionary like him who could foresee the development and establishment of such a colony. His focus remained not only on getting the land allotted from the government and establishing a colony but also on its true development, that is, by establishing an educational institution. He established the “PREET PUBLIC SCHOOL” in the year 1983 with 200 students with the aim of promoting- value based education so that people of the locality faced no problems in educating their children. Shri Kewal Krishan Mutneja was a man of great vision, possessing numerous pioneering qualities. His outstanding leadership in the educational section, his natural innovative spirit and creative restlessness were finally channelized into a constructive vision of establishing residential, religious and educational establishments. The prestigious residential colony of PREET VIHAR, the DURGA MANDIR and the PREET PUBLIC Sec SCHOOL stand testimony to its efforts have won him a distinct place in the pages of the golden history of PREET VIHAR. Mr. Kewal Krishan Mutneja was a man of extreme caliber, knowledge, hard work, patience, love and affection – was lost on 10-08-1998 in an unforeseen demise but needless to mention that His selfless and untiring efforts have found him a distinct space in the pages of the golden history of PREET VIHAR.
